Indian Wedding Planning Checklists

Wedding checklists, budgets and shopping lists for Indian families, with health checks before marriage and tips on choosing vendors.

These guides help two families plan a wedding once the match is fixed. The main checklist runs month by month, starting about a year before the wedding, and shows which jobs usually fall to the bride's side and which to the groom's side.

We do not print muhurat dates on these pages. Dates differ by region and by panchang, so fix the muhurat with your family priest or jothidar, or look it up on Drik Panchang for your own city.

The paperwork after the wedding is covered too. That means registering the marriage and, if the bride chooses, changing her name on Aadhaar, PAN and the passport. Each step links to the official government page, so you can check the current forms and fees yourself before you go.
