Kannada Biodata Format for Marriage
A biodata for marriage in Kannada has personal, jataka, family and contact details, often with the gotra, nakshatra and pada, and the mane devaru (family deity). Fill our form in English, choose Kannada, and all labels print in Kannada script. Download it free as a PDF or image.
What Is in a Kannada Marriage Biodata Format?
The Kannada biodata format has a god's line at the top, a title and a photo, then four sections. On our Kannada biodata they print as vaiyaktika vivaragalu (personal), jataka vivaragalu (horoscope), kutumbada vivaragalu (family) and samparka vivaragalu (contact).
Families in Mysuru, Hubballi or Mangaluru usually send the biodata to relatives first and the jataka to the purohit after. Bengaluru families often want an English copy as well. That part is easy.
How Kannada Names Are Written
Many Kannada names are written as the given name followed by initials: Pradeep H. S., where H may stand for the native place or the family and S for the father's name. Others write the full name with the father's name: Pradeep Shivakumar. Type the Full Name the way your family writes it, because it prints exactly as typed.
Many families put Chi. before a boy's name and Ku. before a girl's. For parents, Shri and Smt. are usual.
Gotra, Nakshatra, Pada and Kuja Dosha
Gotra matters in most Brahmin and many other Hindu families in Karnataka, since a match in the same gotra is usually avoided. Add Gotra from Add More Details in the horoscope section. Lingayat families often write their matha or guru peetha in place of gotra, and the Lingayat marriage biodata page shows how.
Rashi, nakshatra and lagna fill in from the date, time and place of birth. The pada, the quarter of the star from 1 to 4, prints on the nakshatra line.
Kuja dosha is never filled in for you. Ask the family purohit and pick from four answers. On a Kannada biodata they print as kuja dosha ide, kuja dosha illa, bhagashah kuja dosha and gottilla.
Mane Devaru and the Family Lines
Mane devaru, the family deity, appears on a lot of Kannada biodatas: "Sri Channakeshava, Belur" or "Sri Manjunatha, Dharmasthala". Elders notice it. There is no ready field for it, so add one with Add Your Own Field. If you type the field name in Kannada, it prints in Kannada.
Swanta ooru, the native town, comes from the Native Place field. Add the taluk or district. Village names repeat a lot.
The sodaramava, the mother's brother, is often named too. Add Maternal Uncle from Add More Details in the family section.

Kuja dosha is not in the sample. That answer belongs to Pradeep's own jataka, read by the family purohit, and nobody else.
For a girl, families read education and work closely, and whether she wants to keep working after marriage. One plain line in About Me covers that.
How the Kannada Language Setting Works
You don't need a Kannada keyboard. Fill the form in English, then choose Kannada in the Biodata Language box at the top of the form.
The headings and labels print in Kannada script. So does anything picked from a list: rashi, nakshatra and pada, lagna, religion, marital status, diet and height. The date prints as 03-03-1996 in English digits, and the time of birth carries the Kannada word for the part of the day.
Typed text stays exactly as you typed it. "Firmware engineer, Bengaluru" prints in English letters. For the name in Kannada, switch your phone keyboard to Kannada and type it.

Blessing Lines in the Kannada List
With the Ganesha symbol, a Kannada biodata starts with the Ganesha line switched on. The Kannada lines on offer are:
- ಶ್ರೀ ಗಣೇಶಾಯ ನಮಃ
- ಶ್ರೀ
- ಶ್ರೀ ಮಂಜುನಾಥ ಪ್ರಸನ್ನ
- ಶ್ರೀ ವೆಂಕಟೇಶ್ವರ ಪ್ರಸನ್ನ
- ಶ್ರೀ ಗುರುಭ್ಯೋ ನಮಃ
The Kannada titles are ಮದುವೆ ಬಯೋಡೇಟಾ, ವಿವಾಹ ಬಯೋಡೇಟಾ, ಬಯೋಡೇಟಾ and ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ವಿವರಗಳು. If your family opens with a line for Chamundeshwari or your mane devaru, choose Write My Own and type it.
Kannada, English, or Both
Elders in smaller towns like Shivamogga or Hassan usually prefer Kannada, while a Bengaluru IT family, or a match with someone from outside Karnataka who cannot read the script, will usually want English. Download one, change Biodata Language, and download the other. Your details stay saved on your number, so nothing is typed twice.
Send the image on WhatsApp, since it opens on any phone. Keep the PDF for printing and for samaja meets that collect biodatas.

Common Questions
Is There a Kannada Marriage Biodata Format in Word?
Yes. After the PDF or image download, tap Download Word File. It is an editable .docx of the same Kannada biodata and opens in Microsoft Word. Fonts and spacing in Word can look a little different from the PDF.
Can I Get the Marriage Biodata Format in Kannada as a PDF?
Yes. Download PDF gives an A4 file in Kannada script. One biodata per verified mobile number is free, with a small "Made free at hellobiodata.com" line at the bottom.
Where Do I Write Mane Devaru?
Use Add Your Own Field at the end of the family or horoscope section. Name the field Mane Devaru and write the deity and the place.
Should a Lingayat Family Write Gotra?
Some do, many do not. Families who don't usually write the matha or guru peetha instead, with Add Your Own Field.
Can I Add My Jataka Chart?
No. Our biodata prints rashi, nakshatra and lagna as text, without a chart. Share the jataka from your purohit separately if the other family asks.
