What Goes in a Marriage Biodata in Telugu?

A Telugu pelli biodata has four parts: vyaktigata vivaralu (personal), jataka vivaralu (horoscope), kutumba vivaralu (family) and sampradimpu vivaralu (contact). Above them sit a god's symbol, a line like Srirastu Subhamastu, the title and a photo.

Families in Andhra and Telangana usually send it on WhatsApp before pelli choopulu, the first meeting. The other side reads three things early. The intiperu and gothram, the nakshatram with padam, and what the boy or girl does.

Intiperu First, Then the Name

Telugu names put the house name before the given name: Gollapudi Lakshmi Sravani. Many families shorten it to an initial, G. Lakshmi Sravani, and both are correct. Type the Full Name the way your family writes it, because our form prints it exactly as typed.

Elders often know a family by its intiperu and gothram together. So the two usually sit close on the biodata, even though gothram is a horoscope line.

For parents, write Sri and Srimathi before the names. For an elder who has passed away, many families write Ki.Se. before the name.

Gothram, Nakshatram, Padam and Kuja Dosham

Gothram comes first in most Telugu Hindu families, since a match within the same gothram is usually avoided. In our form, add Gotra from Add More Details in the horoscope section.

The nakshatram and padam are worked out from the date, time and place of birth, and print on one line, like Chitra with padam 2. The padam is the quarter of the star, 1 to 4, and the purohit checks it along with the star. Our post on horoscope matching in Telugu families explains what the purohit looks at.

Kuja dosham is your call, after asking the purohit. Our Chevvai / Manglik field has four answers. On a Telugu biodata they print as kuja dosham undi, kuja dosham ledu, paakshika kuja dosham and teliyadu.

Menamama and the Family Lines

The menamama, the mother's brother, has a real part in a Telugu wedding, and many biodatas name him with his town. Add Maternal Uncle from Add More Details in the family section.

Swasthalam, the native place, prints from the Native Place field. Write the town and district, like "Tenali, Guntur district". If the family now lives in Hyderabad or Bengaluru, add Current City in the contact section.

Kuladaivam has no ready field. Families who want it add one line with Add Your Own Field.

A Filled Telugu Biodata Format for a Girl

Sravani is made up, and so are her family and gothram. The number is masked. Her rasi, nakshatram and lagnam are what our calculator gives for these birth details.

Kuja dosham is left out of this sample. That answer should come from her own jatakam.

For a boy working in the US, families usually want the visa status early. There is no ready field for it, so add one with Add Your Own Field: "H-1B, Dallas" or "Green card holder".

How the Telugu Language Setting Works

Typing in Telugu is not needed. Fill the form in English, then choose Telugu in the Biodata Language box, which is the first thing in "Top of the Biodata".

All headings and labels then print in Telugu script. Anything you pick from a list prints in Telugu too: rasi, nakshatram with padam, lagnam, religion, marital status, diet and height. The date prints as 20-01-1998, and the time of birth carries the Telugu word for morning or evening.

Text you type prints the way you typed it. "M.Tech (VLSI)" stays in English letters. If you want the name in Telugu script, switch your phone keyboard to Telugu and type it.

Header Lines Telugu Families Choose

With the Ganesha symbol, a Telugu biodata starts with the Ganesha line switched on. The Telugu lines in our list are:

  • శ్రీ గణేశాయ నమః
  • శ్రీరస్తు శుభమస్తు అవిఘ్నమస్తు
  • శ్రీరస్తు శుభమస్తు
  • ॥ శ్రీ ॥
  • శ్రీ వేంకటేశ్వర స్వామి ప్రసన్న
  • శ్రీరామ

The Telugu titles are వివాహ బయోడేటా, పెళ్లి బయోడేటా, బయోడేటా and వ్యక్తిగత వివరాలు. Any other line goes in with Write My Own.

Sending It to Relatives, Bureaus and the US

A Telugu biodata often travels far. Relatives in Vijayawada, a marriage bureau in Hyderabad, cousins in New Jersey. Send the image on WhatsApp, because it opens without any app. Keep the PDF for the bureau and for printing.

Some families also keep an English copy for matches outside the Telugu circle. Change Biodata Language to English and download again. Your details stay saved on your number.

Common Questions

Is There a Telugu Marriage Biodata Format in Word?

Yes. After the PDF or image download, tap Download Word File. It is an editable .docx of the same Telugu biodata and opens in Microsoft Word.

Can I Get a Marriage Biodata Format PDF in Telugu?

Yes. Download PDF gives an A4 file in Telugu script, ready for printing. It is free for one biodata per verified mobile number, with a small "Made free at hellobiodata.com" line at the bottom.

Do I Need to Write the Padam?

Most Telugu families expect it next to the nakshatram. Our form fills it from the birth details, so it is there unless you remove it.

Where Do I Write the Intiperu?

In the Full Name, before your given name: Gollapudi Lakshmi Sravani, or G. Lakshmi Sravani.

Can the Biodata Include the Jatakam Chart?

No. Our biodata prints rasi, nakshatram and lagnam as text and does not draw a chart. Send the jatakam your family has as a separate file if the other side asks.
