Wedding photographer cost in India depends mostly on four things. How many days they cover. How big the team is. Whether video and films are included. And what you get at the end, from edited photos to an album and a highlight film.
A January 2026 pricing guide by Kamero, a photo-sharing company, puts basic coverage at ₹25,000 to ₹75,000, mid-range at ₹75,000 to ₹2 lakh, and premium teams at ₹2 lakh to ₹5 lakh and above.
Those are one company's bands, not a survey. Prices in a small town and in Mumbai can differ several times over for the same work. Read every figure on this page as a rough range that changes by city.
How Wedding Photographers Price a Package
Almost every Indian wedding studio quotes by the day, or by the function, and then adds deliverables.

Average Wedding Photographer Cost in India
Nobody publishes a true national average. The closest you get are price bands from companies in the trade. Here is the one we could open and check, the Kamero pricing guide dated 2 January 2026:

Wedding Photography Price List, Line by Line
Ask for a price list in this shape. If a studio will not break it down, ask why.

- Cinematic film or highlight video, and its length in minutes.
- Album: number of pages or sheets, size, paper type, and how many copies.
- Pre-wedding shoot: hours, locations, outfit changes.
- Drone, per day.
- Overtime charge per hour.
- Travel and stay, if they come from outside.
- GST. Ask if it is included. A registered studio will add it to the bill.
Drone Wedding Photography Cost in India
A drone is almost always an add-on, priced per day. In the Kamero guide, drone coverage appears only in the premium band.
Before paying for a drone, check two things. First, does the venue allow it? Many hotels, temples and halls do not. Second, can it legally fly there? Drones in India are covered by the Drone Rules, 2021, and areas near airports and some government sites are no-fly zones. Ask the operator to confirm the zone for your venue in writing.
For an indoor wedding in a hall, a drone adds very little. It is worth paying for at a large outdoor venue, a beach or a hill wedding, or a long baraat on an open road.
Candid, Traditional and Films
Older relatives want the traditional photos: every uncle with the couple on the stage. The couple wants candid shots. Most families now book both.
- Traditional photography covers the rituals and the stage photos with every guest. Do not skip it. It is the record of who came.
- Candid photography catches unposed moments. The candid photographer moves around and does not line people up.
- A cinematic film is a short edited video with music, usually 3 to 10 minutes, made from the full footage.
- The full video is the complete record of the rituals. Ask that it is delivered too, and not only the film.
How to Compare Two Photographer Quotes
Put both quotes in one table before you decide. Here is a filled example with made-up figures, only to show the method.

Look closely. Studio B costs more but skips the haldi. Studio A is cheaper. No full video, though. The right choice depends on which of these your family cares about. This is the comparison a single total hides.
Payment Terms to Agree
Most studios ask for an advance to block the date and the balance on or after delivery. Get these in writing:
- The advance amount and whether it is refundable if the wedding date changes.
- The delivery date for photos, the film and the album.
- Who owns the raw files, and whether you get all of them.
- What happens if the named lead photographer cannot come.
- Overtime rates.
