Marriage Biodata Sample and Example for a Boy and a Girl

Below is a filled marriage biodata sample for a girl from Coimbatore, and one for a boy from Madurai. The horoscope and family details are written out in full. Use them as a marriage biodata example: copy the wording that fits your family, or open the same design and type your own details over it.

Two Marriage Biodata Samples, Side by Side

Both people below are made up. So are the phone numbers. The horoscope values are real, though: our calculator worked them out from the date, time and place shown, so you can see how the app fills them.

What a Good Marriage Biodata Example Shows

A good example answers the questions a father asks on the first call, before he has to ask them. Look for four things in any sample you copy from.

  1. Exact job lines. "Assistant engineer, TNEB, Madurai" and not "Government job".
  2. Birth details written in full: 2 August 1997, 10:45 am, Coimbatore. The astrologer needs all three.
  3. Siblings with their status, such as "1 elder sister (married, Chennai)".
  4. One phone number, and whose it is.

A sample that is all adjectives ("simple, caring, god-fearing") teaches you nothing. Skip it and find one with facts.

What Each Sample Does Well

Ananya's sample leaves Annual Income out. Some girls' families would rather talk about salary on the phone after the first call. The biodata does not look incomplete without it.

Karthik's sample gives the employer by name. "Assistant engineer, TNEB" tells a father far more than "Government job". The same goes for his father's line: "retired bank clerk" answers the next question before anyone asks it.

Both list the sibling's marital status. Elders look for that line.

About Me Lines from the Samples

Ananya's About Me reads: "I work in a bank and enjoy Carnatic music. I would like to keep working after marriage. Looking for a well-educated boy from Tamil Nadu, working in Coimbatore, Chennai or Bengaluru."

Karthik's reads: "I am a government engineer posted in Madurai. I like cricket and travel on weekends. Looking for a graduate girl, working or not, who is comfortable living with my parents."

Each one is three sentences. The second line in each is the kind of fact that saves a wasted visit. For more lines like these, see our About Me examples.

Weak Lines and Better Ones

Some lines tell the reader nothing at all. This table shows the swap.

Weak lineBetter line
Good familyFather retired from Indian Bank, mother a teacher
Well settledAssistant engineer, TNEB, since 2019
Simple and caringEnjoys Carnatic music, plays the veena
Expecting a good matchLooking for a graduate boy working in Tamil Nadu
Height: 5.2Height: 5 ft 2 in

The last row trips people up. "5.2" can be read as 5 ft 2 in or as 5.2 feet, which is about 5 ft 2.4 in. Write the inches.

Samples for a Boy, a Girl, a Second Marriage and an NRI

The two samples above suit a first marriage. Other profiles change only a few lines, and this table shows which ones.

ProfileLines that changeFilled example
BoyJob / Occupation with employer and city, Annual Income, Property if you want itBiodata for a boy
GirlEducation first, a line on work after marriage in About Me, a parent as Contact PersonBiodata for a girl
Second marriageMarital Status set to Divorced, Widowed or Awaiting Divorce, plus a Children line if neededBiodata for second marriage
NRICountry in Job / Occupation, Current City for the town abroad, a parent in India as Contact PersonShown below

An NRI line can read: "Software engineer, Seattle, USA. On H-1B visa since 2021." Then add Current City as Seattle and put the father's Indian number under Contact Person, so a call from India gets answered in the daytime.

For a second marriage, there is no Children field in the form. Use Add Your Own Field, name it "Children", and write something like "One daughter, 6 years, stays with me." One plain line is enough. The past does not need explaining on paper.

How to Use a Sample Without Copying Someone's Details

Take the shape of a sample, never its facts. Names, dates, star, phone number and the father's job are all personal. Each of them has to come from your own family.

  1. Copy the order of the lines and the way they are written, such as "Retired, Indian Bank".
  2. Type your own date, time and place of birth. Let the app work out the rasi, nakshatra and lagna, and never copy those from a sample.
  3. Rewrite About Me in your own words. Two families can easily receive the same borrowed paragraph, and elders notice.
  4. Check every number twice before you download: height, income, the phone number.

Biodatas forwarded in WhatsApp groups belong to real families. Do not reuse a stranger's photo, name or wording as your own.

How to Start from One of These Samples

  1. Open the design gallery and pick a design. Peacock Grace and Mango Leaf suit South Indian families like these two.
  2. Choose "This Biodata Is For: Male / Female" and enter the Full Name.
  3. Verify your mobile number with the SMS code. You do this once.
  4. Fill the four sections of the form. Type the date, time and place of birth, and the rasi, nakshatra and lagna fill in by themselves.
  5. Preview it, then choose Download PDF or Download Image.

If the sample above has more fields than you need, the simple marriage biodata format shows a shorter version. For the field order behind these samples, see the marriage biodata format.

Common Questions

Where Can I See a Marriage Biodata Example for a Girl and a Boy?

This page has one of each, side by side, in the table at the top. The pictures further down show the same kind of details printed in real designs.

What Is the Difference Between a Sample and a Template?

A sample is a biodata already filled with someone's details, so you can see how it reads. A template is the empty design you fill yourself. Every sample on this page uses one of our 66 designs, so you can open that design and type your own details.

Can I Copy the Wording from These Samples?

Yes. The lines are written for anyone to use. Change the names and numbers to your own, and keep the sentence shapes if they suit you.

Why Does the Sample Show Only a Masked Phone Number?

The samples are made up, so the numbers are masked. On your own biodata, write the full number of whoever will take the calls.

Is There a Sample with a Photo?

Every design has a passport-size photo box. The design previews at the top of this page show where the photo sits, filled with sample details.

Can I See a Sample in Tamil or Hindi?

Yes. Fill the biodata in English, then choose Tamil, Hindi or any of the 12 print languages in the preview. The same details print in that language.

Do These Horoscope Values Come from a Real Calculation?

Yes. The rasi, nakshatra and lagna in both samples came from our calculator, using the sidereal zodiac and Lahiri ayanamsa, from the birth details shown.
