Reddy Marriage Biodata Format
A Reddy marriage biodata is read from the intiperu (house name) and the native village. Families also want the gotram, the nakshatram with padam, and the family's land or work. Make yours here free in Telugu or English, with the rasi and nakshatram worked out from the birth details.
What Goes in a Reddy Biodata for Marriage?
A Reddy biodata for marriage has the usual birth details and family details. What makes elders in Kadapa or Nalgonda sit up is the top of the page: the intiperu and the village, then the gotram. Many of them know the family already from those three lines, or know someone who does.
The full list families expect:
| Line | Why the other side reads it |
|---|---|
| Intiperu | Places the family. It is often written first in the name. |
| Gotram | Most families avoid a match within the same gotram. |
| Sub-group | Only if the family prefers a match within it. |
| Nakshatram with padam, rasi | For the jatakam match before pelli choopulu. |
| Native village, mandal, district | Each region has its own family circles. |
| Land or business | Many Reddy families farm, even when the son works in Hyderabad or Dallas. |
| Menamama | The mother's brother often takes part in the talks. |
Intiperu and Gotram Are Two Different Lines
The intiperu is the house name, passed down the father's line. It is not the gotram. Two families can share an intiperu and have different gotrams, or the other way round, so write both.
In Telugu usage the intiperu comes before the given name: "Kotha Sai Charan Reddy", where Kotha is the intiperu. Type it that way in Full Name, which holds up to 60 characters. If you also want it on its own row, add it with Add Your Own Field in Personal Details and name the field Intiperu.
Gotram is in Add More Details of the horoscope section. The row prints as Gotra on an English biodata. If your family says gotram, use Rename from the three-dot menu of that row.
Sub-Group in the Caste Line
Many families today write just "Reddy". Others prefer a match within their own group, and then the group goes in Caste / Community. Our community list has Pakanati Reddy, Motati Reddy, Panta Reddy, Desuri Reddy, Velanati Reddy, Gandikota Reddy, Oraganti Reddy and Pedakanti Reddy, among others. Type the first few letters and pick it, or write it the way your family does. Typed text prints exactly as you typed it.
Jatakam Details Families Expect
Most Reddy families match the jatakam before the first meeting. The lines the purohit looks for:
- nakshatram with padam (many families match by padam)
- rasi
- lagnam, which needs the exact time of birth
- kuja dosham
- the time and place of birth themselves
Our form works out rasi, nakshatram with padam and lagnam from the date, time and place of birth, using the Lahiri ayanamsa. If your purohit's jatakam shows a different star, pick his star in the form. Kuja dosham goes in the Chevvai / Manglik line, where you choose No, Yes, Partial or Don't Know. The form never fills that line for you.
The biodata prints these as text rows. It does not draw the rasi chakram, so send the jatakam itself as a second file if the other side asks. Our page on horoscope matching in Telugu explains how the match is done.
Land, Family and the Menamama
Write land in plain numbers. "Agriculture, 15 acres of paddy and chilli, Guntur district" reads better than "well-settled family". Our form has a Property chip under Add More Details in Family Details for exactly this.
Brothers and sisters have Total and Married counts, and your own words go in About Me if you want to add their work. The menamama goes in the Maternal Uncle chip, with his village.
For a son or daughter abroad, put the city in Current City under Contact Details and the visa status (H-1B, green card, citizen) in About Me. Families in Andhra and Telangana read that line closely.

We left Chevvai / Manglik out on purpose. That line should come from your own purohit. For a Reddy girl, the same lines apply, and many families of boys also look for her education and whether she will work after marriage.
Srirastu Line at the Top
Many Telugu families print శ్రీరస్తు శుభమస్తు అవిఘ్నమస్తు (Srirastu Subhamastu Avighnamastu), and it is the first line in our Telugu list. With the Ganesha symbol, though, a Telugu biodata starts with శ్రీ గణేశాయ నమః, so pick Srirastu from the list if you want it. The list also has శ్రీ వేంకటేశ్వర స్వామి ప్రసన్న for devotees of Tirumala.
On an English biodata the Blessing Line starts switched off. Turn it on to pick one of these, or tap Write My Own and type your family's line.
Telugu or English?
Families in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana often print in Telugu. Families with the boy or girl abroad often print in English so that cousins in the US can read it.
Type the details in English and choose the print language. In Telugu the labels print in Telugu script, and so do rasi and nakshatram. Names and your own lines print as you typed them. The Telugu marriage biodata page shows the Telugu print.
