An accountant's biodata for marriage should give the post, the company and the city, like "Senior Accountant, a pharma distributor, Indore". The degree, usually B.Com or M.Com, goes in Education. Accountant is a word every family knows. The confusion comes from the many kinds of accounts jobs, and from mixing up an accountant with a chartered accountant.
Accountant or Chartered Accountant?
A Chartered Accountant (CA) is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Only a member may use that title. An accountant keeps the books, files GST and TDS returns and prepares accounts, and does not need to be a CA.
So write exactly what you are. "Accountant, B.Com" is honest and respected. Writing "CA" when you are not one will be found out quickly, because CA families check. If you are a CA, CS or CMA, our CA biodata guide is the right page.
If you are studying for CA or CMA while working, write both: "Accountant, a textile mill, Tiruppur. CA Intermediate cleared."
Writing the Job Line
Use the designation, the kind of company and the city.

For an own practice, add one line in About Me on what the work is: "I file GST and income tax returns for about 60 shopkeepers and small businesses." That turns a vague "consultant" into a real job in the eyes of the other family.
Degrees and Courses
Write your degrees in Education with the college and year: "B.Com, Loyola College, Chennai, 2017. M.Com, 2019".
Tally, GST and payroll courses are part of the job. Most families will not weigh them. If you want to show one, add it after the degree: "B.Com, 2018, with a diploma in Tally and GST". Do not list five short courses.
Hours and Busy Months
Accounts work has busy months. Month-end closing, the GST return dates and the weeks before 31 March and 31 July can mean late evenings. Say this calmly in About Me:
- Office hours, 9:30 to 6. Late evenings at month-end and in March.
- Own office near home, so my hours are flexible except in tax season.
Families like an accounts job because it is usually in one place with regular hours. One line confirming that is a plus.
