You can download an Odia marriage biodata in Word format free from our maker. Fill the biodata with Odia as the biodata language, download the PDF or the JPG, and the next screen offers "Download Word File". That is an editable .docx copy of the same biodata, with the Odia labels as real text, and it opens in Microsoft Word.
So you get three files from one form: an A4 PDF, a JPG image and the Word file.
How to Get the Word File
- Choose "This Biodata Is For: Male / Female" and enter the full name.
- Verify the mobile number with an OTP. The first download always needs it.
- Pick Odia in the language list and fill the four sections.
- Tap Download PDF or Download Image.
- On the "Your Biodata Is Ready" screen, tap Download Word File.
The Word file is free with every PDF. Like the PDF, a free file has a small "Made free at hellobiodata.com" line at the bottom. Biodata Plus, ₹29, removes it from all three files.
The file is named after the person, for example "Smruti-Ranjan-Mishra-Biodata.docx". Look for it in the phone's Downloads folder.
How Odia Script Looks in Word
On a computer with Windows 10 or 11, Word shows the Odia text in Nirmala UI, a font that comes with Windows. Microsoft's Nirmala UI font page lists Odia among its scripts. You do not need to download any Odia font.
Word on a phone uses its own Odia font. The words are the same, the letter shapes look a little different. Joined letters like the ones in "Prasanna" may look slightly changed, but they read the same.
What to Change in Word
The Word copy is handy for small edits after the download:
- a new mobile number
- a changed job or posting, say from Cuttack to Rourkela
- one more line in About Me
- a correction to a relative's name
Click on the text and type. The Odia labels are text too, so you can change "Brutti" to "Chakiri" if your family prefers it.
For anything bigger, use the maker. Changing the design, the photo, the language or the order of sections is quicker there. Sign in with the same number, make the change and download again.
Check the Page Count
Word lays out the text with its own spacing. A biodata that fits one page as a PDF can sometimes push a few lines onto a second page in Word. Our file is made a little smaller to avoid this, but after you add lines, look at the page count before printing. If it spills, shorten About Me or remove an extra own-field row.
Typing Odia into the Word File
On a laptop, add the Odia keyboard in Windows language settings. On a phone, add Odia in your keyboard app. Type the names slowly and check the joined letters and the vowel signs. A wrong sign in the gotra or the village name is the kind of thing an elder spots at once.
If typing Odia is hard, type in English letters. The labels stay in Odia either way.
PDF or Word, Which to Send
Send the PDF. It opens the same on every phone, the Odia letters look exactly as you saw them, and nobody can change it by mistake. A Word file can open with a different font on the other family's phone, and anyone who gets it can edit it.
Keep the Word file for your own edits and for printing at the xerox shop if you need paper copies. Families who still go through a ghataka often keep a few printed copies too. Our page on biodata in PDF or Word compares the two in detail, and marriage biodata PDF shows the PDF designs.
An English Copy as Well
Many Odia families keep two copies, Odia for relatives in Odisha and English for families elsewhere. Switch the biodata language to English and download again, and you get a second PDF and a second Word file. Your typed details stay as they are. The labels, rashi and nakshatra names change.
You can make an Odia biodata here and pick up the Word file at the end, or begin with our biodata designs. If you want to build the layout yourself in Word, our guide on making a marriage biodata in MS Word shows how.
