Buddhist Marriage Biodata Format in English

Buddhist Marriage Biodata Format in English

A Buddhist marriage biodata in English has four sections: Personal Details, Family Details, Contact Details and, usually switched off, Horoscope. It opens with the Dhamma Chakra symbol and a line such as "Namo Buddhaya". Religion reads "Buddhist", and a Sect row can say Navayana (Ambedkarite), Theravada or Mahayana.

English works best when the families live in different states, or when the boy or girl works in Bengaluru, Hyderabad or abroad and the profile goes to people who do not all read Marathi or Hindi.

Who Uses an English Buddhist Biodata?

Three groups, mostly.

Ambedkarite families from Maharashtra come first. They are the largest group by far. Marathi Buddhists are the biggest Buddhist community in India, and many of their children now work far from home, so a second copy in English is common. Our Marathi version of this guide covers the Marathi labels.

Himalayan Buddhist families from Ladakh, Sikkim, Darjeeling and Arunachal Pradesh often write in English, since their own scripts are not always on phones and English is their school language.

And Bengali-speaking Buddhists, such as Barua families in Kolkata and Tripura, use English or Bangla.

Header Line and Symbol

Choose the Dhamma Chakra symbol. The Blessing Line list follows the symbol, so it shows Buddhist lines once the Dhamma Chakra is picked.

An English biodata starts with the Blessing Line switched off. Switch it on and you will see lines grouped by language:

Blessing LineLanguage group
नमो तस्स भगवतो अरहतो सम्मासम्बुद्धस्सHindi (Devanagari)
बुद्धं सरणं गच्छामिHindi (Devanagari)
॥ नमो बुद्धाय ॥Hindi (Devanagari)
नमो बुद्धाय, जय भीमHindi (Devanagari)
నమో బుద్ధాయTelugu
ನಮೋ ಬುದ್ಧಾಯKannada
নমো বুদ্ধায়Bengali

The list only offers lines in their own script. If you want the line in English letters, such as "Namo Buddhaya" or "Jai Bhim, Namo Buddhaya", type it with Write My Own.

For the title, choose Marriage Biodata, Biodata, Bio-Data or Biodata for Marriage. Keep it simple.

Caste and Community

Leave the Caste / Community row empty if your family prefers that. Many Ambedkarite families do. Others write their community because they want a match within it, and that is their choice too. Our Mahar biodata guide talks about this for Maharashtra families.

For Himalayan families, the community line often carries the most information: Bhutia, Lepcha, Sherpa, Monpa, Ladakhi. Spell it your way.

Horoscope Is off by Default

When you choose Buddhist in Religion, the Horoscope section switches off by itself, so no Rasi, Nakshatra or Chevvai / Manglik rows print. Some Buddhist families in the Himalayas consult a lama on dates and matching. If yours wants birth details, keep Time of Birth in Personal Details, or switch the section back on.

Getting It in Word Format

Many people search for a Buddhist biodata "in English word format" so they can change a line later. After you download the PDF or JPG in our maker, the next screen offers "Download Word File", an editable .docx of the same biodata. It is free with every PDF and opens in Microsoft Word.

Making It in Our Maker

  1. Open the biodata maker and keep English as the language.
  2. Pick the Dhamma Chakra symbol. Switch the Blessing Line on and pick or type a line.
  3. Choose Buddhist in Religion. The horoscope section turns off.
  4. Add Sect from Add More Details.
  5. Add one photo if you want. It is optional.

The mobile number is checked with an OTP before the first download. A free download has a small "Made free at hellobiodata.com" line at the bottom, and Biodata Plus at ₹29 removes it. The marriage biodata format page explains every standard field in more detail.
