How to Make a Marriage Biodata on Your Mobile

How to Make a Marriage Biodata on Your Mobile

To make a marriage biodata on your mobile, open an online biodata maker in Chrome or Safari, pick a design, fill the form and download the PDF. It takes about 15 minutes and needs no laptop. Word and Canva also work, but on a small screen you will spend most of the time fixing the layout.

This page is for the parent who has only a phone and a WhatsApp message saying, "Send the biodata by evening."

What You Need on Your Phone

Keep these ready before you open anything. Hunting for the birth time halfway through is where most of the 15 minutes go.

  • Date of birth and the exact time of birth, from the horoscope or the hospital record
  • Place of birth (the town, not only the district)
  • Education and job title, as your son or daughter writes it
  • Both parents' names and occupations, and the brothers and sisters
  • One clear photo, taken in daylight, already in your gallery
  • A mobile number that a parent will always answer

Any phone from the last five or six years is fine. You need mobile data or Wi-Fi only while filling and downloading.

Use an Online Biodata Maker in the Browser

This is the fastest way on a phone. You fill boxes one below the other, and the maker places everything on the design for you. Nothing to align by hand.

Here is how it works on Hello Biodata, a free marriage biodata maker that runs in the phone browser. Other makers follow a similar order.

  1. Open the design gallery in Chrome or Safari and tap a design you like.
  2. Choose "This Biodata Is For: Male / Female" and type the Full Name.
  3. Enter your mobile number and the code that comes by SMS. You do this once.
  4. Fill the four sections: Personal Details, Horoscope, Family Details and Contact Details.
  5. Add the photo and open the preview.
  6. Tap Download PDF or Download Image.

Rasi, nakshatra and lagna fill in by themselves from the date, time and place of birth. If your family horoscope says something different, pick that value from the list instead.

There is no app to install. It is a website that works on the phone, so it does not take space in your phone memory.

Use Word or Google Docs on the Phone

Both apps are free on Android and iPhone. You can open a biodata template, type your details and save it as a PDF.

The trouble is the layout. On a 6-inch screen, tables shift when you type a long name, and the photo jumps to the next page. Most parents who try this end up finishing it on a relative's laptop.

If you do use Word or Docs, keep the design plain: one table with two columns, field name on the left, your detail on the right. Save it as a PDF before sending, because a .docx file looks different on every phone that opens it. Our marriage biodata format page lists the fields in the usual order, so you can copy them into the table.

Use the Canva App

Canva has many decorative biodata templates. You replace the sample text in each box with your own.

It works, but every field is a separate text box. If your son's job title is longer than the sample, the box overflows and you resize it by hand. Some templates also use paid elements, which you must pay for or remove before downloading. Our page on making a biodata in Canva has the steps if you want to try.

Typing in Hindi, Marathi or Tamil on the Phone

You have two choices. Type in English and let the biodata print in your language, or type in your language directly.

On Hello Biodata, the labels and the rasi and nakshatra names print in whichever of the 12 languages you choose, even if you type the details in English. So "Ramesh Patil" typed in English stays as you typed it, while "Father's Name" prints as "वडिलांचे नाव" on a Marathi biodata.

If you want to type the names themselves in Devanagari or Tamil script, add that language to your phone keyboard. On Android with Gboard, Google's help page on typing in a different language shows the steps: Settings, then Languages, then Add keyboard. On iPhone, go to Settings, General, Keyboard, Keyboards, and add Hindi or Tamil.

Switch between keyboards with the globe key at the bottom left.

Adding and Cropping a Photo on the Phone

Pick a recent photo where the face is clear and the light falls from the front. A photo taken near a window in the morning works better than one taken at night under a tube light.

The photo box in our designs has the same 7:9 shape as a passport photo, printed a little bigger, about 4.4 by 5.6 cm on the A4 page. After you pick the photo, you can zoom and move it inside that frame, or turn it if it came out sideways. You can even zoom in on one face from a family photo, though a proper solo photo looks better.

Avoid selfies taken at arm's length. The face looks wider than it is, and elders notice.

Where the PDF Is Saved After Download

This confuses many parents, because the file does not open by itself.

On an Android phone, the PDF usually goes to the Downloads folder. Open the Files app (or "My Files" on Samsung) and tap Downloads. Chrome also shows a "Downloaded" message at the bottom with an Open button.

On an iPhone, Apple's page on where to find downloads says files from Safari go to the Downloads folder in the Files app. Open Files, tap Browse, then iCloud Drive, then Downloads.

Our download names the file after the person, like "Karthik-Raman-Biodata.pdf", so it is easy to spot in the list.

Sending It on WhatsApp

After the download, tap Share on WhatsApp on the screen that says "Your Biodata Is Ready". Choose the contact and send.

Send the PDF as a document so it stays sharp. If the other family uses an older phone that struggles with PDFs, send the JPG image instead, which holds every page in one picture. Our guide on sending a biodata on WhatsApp covers the message to send along with it.
