Biodata for Marriage in Urdu
To make a biodata for marriage in Urdu, fill the form in English or Urdu and set the Biodata Language to Urdu. The whole biodata then reads right to left, with Urdu labels and Bismillah at the top.
What a Biodata for Marriage in Urdu Looks Like
An Urdu marriage biodata reads from right to left, the way an Urdu letter or newspaper does. The labels sit on the right side of each row and the details on the left. At the top there is usually بسم اللہ الرحمٰن الرحیم, then the title شادی کا بائیو ڈیٹا (shaadi ka biodata), then the photo.
Below that, the usual three parts of a rishta biodata. Personal details (name, date of birth, height, education, work). Family details. And a contact number, usually the father's or a brother's.
A Muslim biodata has no rashi or kundli. When you choose Muslim as the Religion in our form, the horoscope section switches off by itself and nothing about stars prints.
Who Prints a Rishta Biodata in Urdu?
Many Urdu-reading families in Hyderabad, Lucknow, Bhopal, Aurangabad and parts of Bihar still like the biodata in Urdu, especially when it goes to elders. Others send it in English, or in Hindi, because the boy or girl reads English more easily than Urdu.
There is no right answer. Send the language the other family reads. Our form makes both from the same details, so you can keep an Urdu copy for the nani and an English one for the boy's side in Pune.
Right to Left, and What Happens to English Words
Pick Urdu and the whole page turns: rows, section titles, the blessing line and the title all read from the right. The labels, section titles and values picked from lists (Diet, Marital Status, Family Type) print in Urdu.
What you type prints exactly as you typed it. This is where Urdu needs a little care.
- If you type "Branch Manager, Mumbai" in English, those words still read left to right inside the Urdu page. It looks neat, but the page becomes half Urdu and half English.
- If you want a fully Urdu page, type the details with the Urdu keyboard on your phone. Names especially look better in Urdu on an Urdu biodata.
Dates print in numbers with English digits, 10-10-1994, and so does the mobile number. The form does not switch to Urdu numerals.
Any label can be renamed from the row's three-dot menu. For a salaried job, some families prefer ملازمت to پیشہ. Rename it. The change stays on the Urdu copy.
Writing the Sect, Biradari and Deen in Urdu
These lines are the same as on any Muslim biodata. Write the maslak in Caste / Community, such as Sunni (Hanafi) or Shia (Ithna Ashari), and the biradari after it if the family wants it known: Syed, Ansari, Qureshi, Pathan. A line or two in About Me on namaz and Quran is enough.
Our Muslim marriage biodata page goes through sect and maslak wording, deen lines and whose number to give. Everything there works on an Urdu biodata too. Only the print language changes.
A Filled Urdu Biodata for a Boy
The boy below is made up, and so is his family. The phone number is masked. The table shows what you would type in English. With Urdu as the Biodata Language, every label on the left of this table prints in Urdu.

Blessing Lines and Titles
An Urdu biodata starts with the Blessing Line on. For a Muslim biodata you can pick:
- بسم اللہ الرحمٰن الرحیم, in Urdu spelling
- بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ, the Arabic with vowel marks
- وَخَلَقْنَاكُمْ أَزْوَاجًا (Surah An-Naba, verse 8)
The 786 is the symbol above the line, not a blessing line. You can show it, change it or switch it off.
Urdu is not only for Muslim families. The list also has an Urdu Christian line, خدا محبت ہے (1 John 4:8), and the Sikh greeting in Urdu script,
Write My Own takes anything else.
