A good AI prompt for a marriage biodata photo asks the app to tidy a real photo, not to make a new one. Ask it to replace a messy background with a plain wall and even out the light. Then tell it to keep the face and skin tone exactly as they are.
That last line matters most. A photo that looks like a different person causes more trouble at the first meeting than a plain photo ever would.
Tidy the Photo, Do Not Fake It
There is a clear line here. Families feel strongly about it.
| Fine to ask AI for | Not fine |
|---|---|
| A plain background in place of a cluttered room | A new face, slimmer face or different jawline |
| Softer, more even light | Lighter or "fairer" skin |
| Removing a stray object or person at the edge | Removing scars, birthmarks or glasses the person wears daily |
| Straightening a tilted photo | Adding height or changing body shape |
| A sharper version of a slightly blurred photo | A photo in a place the person has never been |
Outfit changes sit in the middle. Turning a T-shirt into a plain shirt is a small edit. Putting a girl who never wears sarees into a silk saree makes a promise the first meeting will break. If you do change the outfit, tell the family when they ask for more photos.
Privacy Before You Upload
A photo you upload to an AI app is stored by that company, at least for a while. Google's Gemini Apps privacy hub says some chats are reviewed by people. It asks users not to enter information they would not want a reviewer to see, and says reviewed chats can be kept for up to three years.
OpenAI's page on data controls in ChatGPT explains how to turn off "Improve the model for everyone", so your new chats are not used to train its models.
So upload only the photo you plan to put in the biodata anyway. Do not upload photos of other family members, and do not type the full name and birth details in the same chat.
Prompts for Background Cleanup
Copy one. Attach your photo.
"Replace the background of this photo with a plain light grey wall. Do not change the person's face, skin tone, hair, expression or clothes in any way. Keep it looking like a real photo, not a painting."
"Remove the cupboard and the calendar behind the person and fill the space with a plain off-white wall. Keep everything about the person exactly the same."
"Crop this to a passport-style head-and-shoulders photo, centred, with a little space above the head. Do not edit the face."
Prompts for Light and Sharpness
"Make the lighting softer and more even, as if taken near a window in the morning. Do not change skin colour or facial features."
"This photo is slightly dark and has a yellow tint from a tube light. Correct the colour to look natural. Keep the face and skin tone exactly the same."
"Make this photo a little sharper for printing. Do not smooth the skin or change the face."
Prompts for a Neater Outfit
Small changes only. Keep the original handy.
"Change the T-shirt to a plain light blue formal shirt with a collar. Do not change the face, hair, skin tone or background."
"Make the saree look neatly pleated and the pallu tidy. Do not change the colour or design of the saree, or anything about the face."
We would not suggest prompts that put the person in jewellery, clothes or places they do not own or have not been. That is the kind of edit families feel cheated by.
Gemini or ChatGPT?
Both can edit an uploaded photo, and both change faces more than you asked for now and then. Whichever you use, compare the result side by side with the original before saving it.
One difference worth knowing: Google says images created or edited with its AI carry an invisible SynthID watermark, and the Gemini app can check for it, as its SynthID help page explains. So an AI-edited photo can sometimes be identified as AI-edited. That is one more reason to keep edits small and honest.
Check the Result Like the Other Family Will
Before you use the edited photo:
- Put it next to the original. The eyes, nose, smile and skin tone should match.
- Show it to someone at home without telling them it was edited. If they say "looks a bit different", start again with a gentler prompt.
- Look at it small, the way it will appear in the biodata. Strange details like extra fingers or blurred earrings show up even at that size.
If none of the results look right, take a fresh photo near a window. Our photo tips for a biodata cover this step by step, and a good original rarely needs AI at all.
Adding the Photo to Your Biodata
Every design on Hello Biodata has one photo box in the 7:9 passport shape, about 4.4 by 5.6 cm on the A4 page. Upload the final photo, then zoom and move it to fit the face in the frame. There is no built-in AI editing in our free marriage biodata maker, so do any cleanup before you upload. You can pick a design here.

Common questions
What Is a Good AI Prompt for a Biodata Photo?
One that asks for a plain background and natural light, and tells the AI in so many words not to change the face, skin tone or features.
Is It Okay to Use an AI-edited Photo in a Biodata?
Small edits like the background and light are fine. Changing the face, skin colour or body shape is not, because the families will meet.
How Do I Keep the Face Realistic?
Say "do not change the face, skin tone or features" in every prompt, then compare the result with the original side by side.
Is It Safe to Upload My Photo to AI Apps?
The company stores what you upload. Upload only the photo you will share anyway, and never add birth details or phone numbers in the same chat.
Can AI Make a Saree Photo from My Normal Photo?
It can, but the result shows clothes the person may not wear. If you do it, keep the original and be honest if the family asks.
