Maithil Brahmin Girl Biodata for Marriage, a Filled Sample

A Maithil Brahmin girl's biodata for marriage carries her mool and gotra right after her name and community, because a Mithila family reads those two lines before anything else. Then come her horoscope, education and job, her father's and grandfather's names, her nanihal (mother's family) and the native village in Mithila.

Below is one complete sample for a girl from Darbhanga who works in a bank in Patna. Every section has a short note on why it is written that way.

The names, the bank branch and the phone number are made up for this page. The rasi, nakshatra and lagna are worked out for the birth date, time and place given, so the sample is consistent.

At the top: the Ganesha symbol, the blessing line ॥ श्री गणेशाय नमः ॥ and the title "Biodata". One photo, face and shoulders, in a cotton saree with a plain background.

HobbiesMadhubani painting, singing Vidyapati geet

Why it reads this way. "Maithil Brahmin" is enough in the community line. Families who still go by the old groups (Shrotriya, Yogya, Panjibaddh, Jaiwar) add the group in brackets. Anjali's family does not, so the line stays short.

A bank job in Patna answers the question every boy's family asks a working girl: where is she posted, and is it a transferable job? If she is open to a transfer after marriage, say so in About Me.

The hobbies are real Mithila hobbies. A family from Madhubani will notice them at once.

Chevvai / ManglikYes
GotraKashyap
Mool (own field)Sodarpure
Mool Village (own field)As written in the family panji

Why it reads this way. The mool and the gotra sit together, in the horoscope section, because that is where the boy's family pandit will look while matching. A Maithil family needs both. The same gotra (Kashyap, Shandilya, Vatsa and others) is found under many different mools, so the gotra alone does not place a family.

Write the mool exactly as your elders or your panjikar write it. Spellings vary between families (Sodarpure, Sodarpur), and the other side will check it against their own records.

Manglik is marked "Yes" here because the family pandit marked it so. Write it as it is. Hiding it only means the question comes up later, at a worse time. Many families match a manglik girl with a manglik boy, and the boy's pandit will check the kundli anyway.

Nanihal (own field)Late Shri Devnarayan Mishra, Rahika, Madhubani
Family TypeJoint Family

Why it reads this way. The grandfather's name is the line elders read most closely in a Mithila biodata. With the mool, it tells a panjikar which branch of the family this is.

The nanihal line gives the maternal grandfather's name and village. The panji check before a Maithil wedding looks at the mother's side too, so families expect this line on a girl's biodata.

The native village goes in even though the family now lives in Darbhanga town. "Sarisab-Pahi, Madhubani" means more to a Maithil family than any city address.

Contact Details

FieldEntry
Contact PersonShri Binod Kumar Jha (father)
Mobile Number94XXXXXX21

Why it reads this way. The father is the contact, since he will speak to the boy's family first. Current City says where Anjali herself lives, which is different from the family address.

About Me for This Girl

"I work as an Assistant Manager in a public sector bank in Patna and have been in this job for three years. I grew up in Darbhanga in a joint family and love Madhubani painting. I would like to continue my job after marriage, and I am open to a transfer to the boy's city. We are looking for a well-settled Maithil Brahmin boy with a different mool and gotra, and the family will want the Aswajan check done."

The last line does the work of a partner-preferences section. Our form has no separate Expectations section, so a line at the end of About Me is the usual place for it. About Me takes up to 700 characters, and this one fits.

Our main Maithil Brahmin biodata format explains the mool, the panji, the Aswajan certificate and the four groups in detail. This page only shows how a girl's biodata looks once it is filled in.

Making This Biodata in Our Form

  1. Choose "This Biodata Is For: Female", type the full name, and verify the mobile number with OTP.
  2. Pick English or Hindi as the print language. Maithili is written in Devanagari, so families who want Devanagari labels pick Hindi.
  3. Fill in date, time and place of birth. The form works out the rasi, nakshatra with pada and the lagna on its own. Check them against the kundli your pandit made.
  4. Pick Chevvai / Manglik yourself. The form never fills it.
  5. Tap Gotra under "Add More Details" in the horoscope section. Add Mool, Mool Village, Grandfather and Nanihal with Add Your Own Field.
  6. Pick a design on the templates page, then download the A4 PDF or the JPG for WhatsApp.

An own field name in English letters prints in Title Case, so "nanihal" prints as "Nanihal". If you pick Hindi, you can type the field name in Devanagari instead, such as मूल, and it prints as typed. More designs for a girl's biodata are on the biodata for girl page, and the Brahmin biodata page covers pravara and other lines that other Brahmin communities write.

Common questions

What Should a Maithil Brahmin Girl's Biodata Include?

Her name, birth details, mool, gotra, rasi, nakshatra and manglik status. Then education, job, father's and grandfather's names, nanihal, native village and a contact number.

Where Do I Write the Mool on the Biodata?

Next to the gotra, in the horoscope section, as an own field called "Mool". Write it as your family panji or elders write it.

Should a Maithil Girl's Biodata Say She Is Manglik?

Yes, if the pandit says so. The boy's side will match the kundli in any case, and an honest line saves an awkward call later.

Is the Nanihal Needed on a Girl's Biodata?

Most Maithil families expect it, because the panji check covers the mother's family as well as the father's.

Can I Make the Biodata in Hindi?

Yes. Pick Hindi as the print language for Devanagari labels. Own fields such as मूल can be typed in Devanagari.

What Is a Good Photo for a Maithil Brahmin Girl's Biodata?

One clear face-and-shoulders photo in daylight, in a saree or suit, with a plain background.
