A Brahmin boy biodata for marriage has the same four parts as any biodata: personal, horoscope, family and contact. What changes is the order of attention. Most Brahmin families check the gotra before anything else, so the sub-caste, gotra and nakshatra must be easy to find. Below is one complete sample for a Gaur Brahmin boy from Mathura who teaches physics in Jaipur, with a short note under each part.
Every name here is made up, and so are the college and the phone number. The rasi, nakshatra and lagna are real for the date, time and place shown, worked out the same way our form does it.

Personal Details
| Field | Entry |
|---|---|
| Full Name | Aditya Sharma |
| Date of Birth | 2 February 1995 |
| Time of Birth | 6:45 am |
| Place of Birth | Mathura, Uttar Pradesh |
| Height | 5 ft 10 in |
| Religion | Hindu |
| Caste / Community | Brahmin (Gaur) |
| Education | M.Sc. Physics, Ph.D. Physics, University of Rajasthan |
| Job / Occupation | Assistant Professor (Physics), Government College, Jaipur |
| Annual Income | ₹9.5 lakh |
| Marital Status | Never Married |
| Diet | Vegetarian |
| Languages Known | Hindi, English, Braj |
Why it reads this way. The caste line says "Brahmin (Gaur)", not just "Brahmin". Gaur, Sanadhya, Kanyakubja and Saryupareen families often look within their own group first, and the bracket answers that before anyone has to call.
The job line has the post, the subject, the type of college and the city. "Lecturer" alone could mean a coaching centre. "Government College, Jaipur" tells the girl's father it is a regular state job, and it tells the mother where her daughter would live.
Income is one plain yearly figure. The pay level and DA can wait for the phone call.
Horoscope Details
| Field | Entry |
|---|---|
| Rasi | Kumbha (Aquarius) |
| Nakshatra | Shatabhisha, Pada 3 |
| Lagna | Makara (Capricorn) |
| Chevvai / Manglik | Yes |
| Gotra | Kaushik |
| Mother's Gotra (own field) | Bharadwaj |
Why it reads this way. Many North Indian Brahmin families write only the gotra, without pravara, veda or shakha. That is normal for a Gaur family, so this sample leaves them out. A Tamil or Kannada Brahmin family would usually add them, as in our Brahmin girl sample.
The mother's gotra is there because some families avoid a match with the mother's gotra too. One line saves a whole conversation.
The time of birth says "am". The lagna moves into a new sign roughly every two hours, so a birth at 6:45 written as just "6:45" can give the pandit the wrong lagna. Use the time from the hospital record or the old janam patri, not from memory.
Manglik says "Yes" because the family's own kundli says so. Many families match a manglik boy with a manglik girl, so saying it on the first page saves both sides a round of calls. Our form never fills this line by itself. You pick it.
Family Details
| Field | Entry |
|---|---|
| Father's Name | Shri Vinod Kumar Sharma |
| Father's Occupation | Retired, office staff, Indian Oil Mathura Refinery |
| Mother's Name | Smt. Kusum Sharma |
| Mother's Occupation | Homemaker |
| Brothers | 1 (married) |
| Sisters | None |
| Native Place | Baldeo, Mathura district |
| Family Type | Joint Family |
| Family Status | Middle Class |
| Maternal Uncle | Shri Suresh Chand Upadhyay, Aligarh |
| Property | Own house, Krishna Nagar, Mathura |
Why it reads this way. "Shri" and "Smt." go before the parents' names, not before the boy's own. That is how most families in Uttar Pradesh write it.
"Joint Family" with one married brother tells the girl's side that the parents live with the elder brother and his wife. Expect a question about it at the first meeting, and that is fine. It is better asked than discovered later.
The maternal uncle's name and town helps elders find common relatives. In Braj and western UP, a lot of rishtas still move this way, through someone's mama or mausa.
Contact Details
| Field | Entry |
|---|---|
| Contact Person | Shri Vinod Kumar Sharma (father) |
| Mobile Number | 98XXXXXX41 |
| Address | Krishna Nagar, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh |
| Current City | Jaipur |
Why it reads this way. The number is the father's. In most arranged matches the first call goes from parent to parent, and a boy busy with classes can miss it.
The address stops at the locality. Give the house number once the families have spoken. Current City says Jaipur, because Mathura is where the parents live, not where the boy works.
About Me for This Boy
About Me is a short paragraph in the boy's own voice. This one is under 600 characters, well inside the form's 700-character limit:
"I teach undergraduate physics at a government college in Jaipur and have been there since 2022. My Ph.D. was on thin-film solar cells. I go home to Mathura most months, and I am close to my brother's two children. On Sundays I play table tennis at a club near my flat. I am looking for an educated girl from a Brahmin family, Gaur preferred. If she works, I will support her job, and we will live in Jaipur for now."
The last two sentences do the work of an expectations section. Our form has no separate partner preference section, so a line or two at the end of About Me does that job. More examples are in our About Me guide for boys.
What the Girl's Family Reads First
For a Brahmin boy, most families read in roughly this order:
- Caste line and gotra. Same gotra usually ends it there.
- Job and city.
- Rasi and nakshatra, which go to the family pandit for gun milan.
- The family: who lives in the house and what the father did.
- The photo, and only then the hobbies.
So the first two lines must be right. A wrong spelling of the gotra (Kaushik, Kaushal, Koshik) has stopped more than one proposal for no good reason. Write it the way it appears in the family's puja records or wedding cards.
For how the 36-point match works, see our 36 gun milan guide.
Making This Biodata in Our Form
Pick "This Biodata Is For: Male", type the name and verify the mobile number with OTP. In Caste / Community, typing "Gaur" finds Brahmin with the sub-caste. Rasi, nakshatra with pada and lagna fill in by themselves from the birth details. Gotra is a chip under Horoscope. Mother's Gotra goes in with Add Your Own Field.
Choose a design on the templates page. The download gives an A4 PDF and a JPG, and the next screen offers the same biodata as an editable Word file, free. For more boy samples across jobs and cities, see the biodata for boy page.
Common questions
Should a Brahmin Boy's Biodata Mention the Gotra?
Yes. For most Brahmin families it is the first check, and leaving it out only brings a phone call asking for it.
Do I Need to Write Pravara, Veda and Shakha?
Only if your family uses them. Many North Indian Brahmin families write the gotra alone. South Indian Brahmin families more often write all of them.
The Boy Is Manglik. Should We Still Write It?
Yes, write "Yes" or "Partial" as the family kundli says. Hiding it only wastes a visit, because the other family's pandit will find it in the kundli anyway.
Should a Government Job Holder Write His Income?
It is optional, but many girl's families ask. One yearly figure is enough. Do not write pay level or allowances.
Can This Biodata Be Made in Hindi?
Yes. Choose Hindi as the biodata language and the labels, rasi and nakshatra print in Devanagari, even if you type the details in English.
