Yadav Marriage Biodata Format
A Yadav marriage biodata format follows the usual Hindu biodata, with the gotra, the mother's gotra and the native village spelt out clearly. Families who match within a group also write it, such as Ahir or Golla. Make yours here free in Hindi or English.
What Goes in a Yadav Biodata for Marriage?
A Yadav biodata for marriage has the usual personal details and a full family section. On top of that, families read four lines closely:
- the gotra
- the mother's gotra, because many Yadav families avoid that one too
- the group, if your family matches within it (Ahir, Gwala or Golla, for example)
- the native village with tehsil and district
Yadav is a wide name. Families from Azamgarh, Rewari, Madhubani, Kutch and Kurnool all write Yadav or Yadava, and each region has its own habits. Write what your family writes. You do not need to follow a format from another state.
Gotra and the Mother's Gotra
Most Yadav families avoid a match within the same gotra, and many also avoid the mother's gotra. So write both, each on its own line.
Yadav gotra names differ from region to region, and spellings change even within one district. Ask the oldest person on your father's side if you are not sure, because the gotra decides which matches can go ahead. Our page on what a gotra is explains the idea for younger readers.
On our form, Gotra is in Add More Details of the horoscope section. Add the mother's gotra with Add Your Own Field and name it Mother's Gotra, or Nanihal Gotra if that is what your family says. If you switch the horoscope off, add both as your own fields in Personal Details so they still print.
Writing the Group in the Caste Line
In the North, write Yadav in Caste / Community, with the group in brackets if your family matches within it: "Yadav (Ahir)" or "Yadav (Gwala)". Many families write just "Yadav". That is common and nobody will think less of it.
Our community list knows Yadav, Ahir, Yadava and Golla, and the Yadav groups Gwalvanshi, Nandvanshi, Krishnaut, Majhraut and Sadgop among others. Type the first letters and pick it, or write it the way your family does. Typed text prints exactly as typed.
In Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka, Golla families usually write "Golla" or "Yadava" and add the intiperu (house name) along with the gotram, as other Telugu families do. Our list has Golla groups such as Pakinati Golla, Yerra Golla, Kadu Golla and Puja Golla. In Tamil Nadu, Konar and Idaiyar families are in the list as well.
Village, Land and Family
Write the village with tehsil and district. Many Yadav families avoid a match within the same village, so the other side will look for it first. Native Place in Family Details takes it: "Village Bilariaganj, Azamgarh district".
Many Yadav families keep land and cattle. Many others are in the police, the army or government service. Write them in plain numbers:
- Agriculture, 10 bigha of wheat and sugarcane, plus a dairy of 15 buffaloes
- Father: Head Constable, Bihar Police. Uncle: Subedar, Indian Army
- Own house in Gurugram, family land in the village
Land goes in the Property chip under Add More Details in Family Details. For a job in the forces or the police, write the rank and the posting.
Kundli Details
Practice varies. Many Yadav families in the North check the kundli for gun milan and manglik dosh before the first meeting. Others rely on the gotra check and a meeting of the two families.
If your family matches, keep the horoscope section on. The form fills rashi, nakshatra and lagna from the date, time and place of birth, using the Lahiri ayanamsa. Pick the manglik status yourself from No, Yes, Partial or Don't Know. If your family does not match, switch the section off and write "Kundli not required" at the end of About Me.

Krishna or Ganesha Line at the Top
Many Yadav families print a Krishna line at the top, and others print the Ganesha line. On a Hindi biodata the Blessing Line starts with ॥ श्री गणेशाय नमः ॥. The Gujarati list has ॥ જય શ્રી કૃષ્ણ ॥, which suits Ahir families in Kutch and Saurashtra. For a Hindi or English Krishna line, tap Write My Own and type "Jai Shri Krishna" or the line your family uses.
Which Language Should It Print In?
Families in UP and Bihar often print in Hindi. Golla families print in Telugu or Kannada, and Konar families in Tamil. Families with children working in big cities or abroad often choose English.
Type the details in English and choose the print language. In Hindi, labels print in Devanagari, and so do rashi and nakshatra. Names and your own lines print as you typed them. See the Hindi marriage biodata or the Telugu marriage biodata page for how each one prints.
